XP2 Super in Caffenol from RB67 65mm Sekor C
Rated at about 200-320.
Recipe used with 500ml water at 20 celsius:
Sodium Carbonate (anhydrous) 8g
Ascorbic acid (pure) 5g
Instant coffee granules (Nescafe Red Cup) 20g
Potassium Bromide 0.7g
You can make your own anhydrous Sodium Carbonate by dry-roasting kitchen baking soda in a clean dry frying pan. Medium heat, stirring frequently - you'll see dry bubbling as CO2 and water are expelled. Once no more dry bubbling can be seen, keep going for a few minutes and allow to cool before boxing in an airtight food container. Strain through a fine sieve if worried about rocks in the powder.
Fully dissolve Sodium Carbonate before adding Ascorbic acid. Once AscAc has fully dissolved, add coffee and dissolve thoroughly. Lastly add Potassium Bromide and thoroughly dissolve/mix. Let soup stand for a couple of minutes before pouring.
Total time in dev 60 minutes.
Agitate gently for first minute.
3 gentle inversions at 2 minutes.
3 gentle inversions at 4 minutes.
3 gentle inversions at 8 minutes.
3 gentle inversions at 16 minutes.
3 gentle inversions at 32 minutes.
Water stop at 60 minutes in running water for several minutes.
Fix as normal for most B&W films - whatever you normally use. Continuous gentle agitation to start with to make sure there's no dichroic fog (formation of silver in the presence of an acid). DF is sometimes responsible for undiagnosable streaks during developing.
Enjoy your tonality!
