I finally got my hands on an XA4—a very clean-looking copy from a reputable store with an eBay presence.
I decided to use the self timer for a shot, only to find that it doesn't work. I remember reading something John Hermansson (of Camtech—an Olympus expert) said about non-working XA self timers and an oily magnet.
So I'm wondering if anyone knows if this points to impending failure requiring service or replacement. If it does, even though I want to be optimistic and keep it, I think I should probably return it and try for another copy.
Anyone?
