X-TOL vs T-MAX

Hello everyone. Until now, I have had all my film developed at a lab in X-TOL. I push tri-x 400 to 1600, becuse I am after the look I get.

Now I have just started developing myself at home, using T-MAX. I was wondering if I can achive the same look as the lab achives with t-max, or if I in fact have to use X-TOL as well? I really don't want to mix chemicals...

Have anyone ever compared the two when pushing tri-x two stop?

I have used in the past Tmax developer when pushing 400 films to 1600, not Trix, but Ilford pan 400 and Tmax 400. It worked good.
