may sound like a strange question... but i have a single roll of velvia (color reversal film) in the fridge, and the local lab closed down just a few weeks ago (good thing, they were overpriced). so i'm wondering, what could i expect from cross-processing velvia in b/w chemicals? would the base be clear enough to make enlargements?

This has come up before in general with E-6 films and I think the answer is that the resulting B/W image is too contrasty and/or faint to be usable. C-41 cross processing should be doable though.
