I was going to post this in the "Kodachrome" thread, but I feel this warranted a new thread.

Just today, I posted a roll of KL-200 rated at 500 to Dwayne's. I sent it express mail, as I knew it had to be there by the 23rd, as Dwayne's website pointed out. That is, until today. Now they say that push processing had to be there by the 21st, which for you keeping track at home, is today! Are they just screwing with me, or did I miss the deadline because they neglected to give any advance warning about the change? I will be incredibly upset if the roll is not push-processed, and will ask for (at the very least) a full refund of the processing price, as well as a new roll of film.

I was planning to send out some Kodachrome on the 29th via Next Day Air, but I wonder whether they will arbitrarily change that cutoff date as well!

I believe you just missed that they already had that 21st of december date deadline for anything but plain vanilla Kodachrome processing.

Instead of posting here it would be more advisable to contact Dwaynes directly at once and hint them at the different date given at their site.
So in case there has been in error to your disadvantage it still could be corrected.

I have the same issue...I shot part of a roll at EI 640. I guess we'll have to develop normally and then dupe ala Galen Rowell to restore the balance. He called it his secret 400 ASA Kodachrome and used to do it with ISO 64 film processed normally.

I accidentally loaded 25 in two bodies that were metered for 64 at 80, so since they were photos of my 84 year old Grandmother that I had not seen in 20 years, I had to drive 400 miles yesterday from Dallas to Parsons to get it there on time. Thankfully, I also shot the right film at the right speed in case these are toast from the push, +1.5.

I also shot for half a day today in the lab, got the Fedex and UPS shipments, all kinds of cool stuff of the crew in action and got the lay of the land for when I return on the 30th. Basically they had to move the date for push / pull up sooner because they are getting swamped with just the regular stuff. If they push, they just change the time, if they pull, they have to also change the temperature which really brings things to a halt.

So try not to get upset at the date changing, it really is getting down to the wire here and we want everyone to have the best quality Kodachrome they can have.

Wow, what an incredible amount of commitment. Hats of to you, sir!

Well, Dan, they burned someone by changing the date. They should not have given the later date if there was a chance they couldn't complete it in time. Why couldn't they just hold on to the push stuff and do it after the 30th when things slow down? I would sure rather hear from them that they were going to that than get the message the OP did. Not a way to impress customers, that's for damn sure!

Why shouldn't he get upset? Is he supposed to just "forgive" them for saying one thing and doing another on short notice, leaving him without an option?

I've not had problems with my K-14 processing from them, except someone needs remedial training in mounting slides. Their E-6 has been another story, and I won't be using them for that after I'm done with my Fuji mailers.

I just wanted to update on the status. I received the KL-200 that I ordered push processing on, and they were pushed as requested. I do appreciate Dwayne's being able to push the film, despite the fact that my film arrived even after the original Dwayne's deadline (my package arrived in the Parsons Post Office in the afternoon, too late to be delivered). This tells me that they are still putting the customer first, even with the obscene amount of work they have been doing the past few weeks.
