Yes I have looked at pictures from both lenses. The OOF highlights seem better on the Tokina. If I cant find the Tokina I might lookk for the Tamron which is easier to find.

I've owned both the Tokina and the Tamron and kept the Tamron primarily because it used the same filter size (49mm) as many of my other lenses. There are two different versions of the Tamron SP 90mm f2.5. Many seem to prefer the 52B model. You don't mention the lens mount you are looking for on the Tokina, although it makes no difference with the Tamron. Bill Barber
