Hey there, it's me, the confused asshole with English as my second language who's here to waste ya'lls time...
What I asked for was suggestions on a super 8 with a fast lens and a focusing screen. That, to me at least is a pretty decent description. As one poster pointed out most Super8's do not have a ground glass but rather a clear, bright viewfinder which make it impossible to focus accurately, particularly with a digital sensor (in place of the film) and with a fast aperture.
I appreciate those giving suggestions (what I asked for) and will pursue those suggestions.
So far I've found a Canon Canonet 8 with a ground glass and am going to work with that.
I've also placed a sensor in the original Canon 310XL and, quite surprisingly, it works. I will say that it's a rudimentary trial setup so the focus plane is not as flat as it should be but it's a proof of concept.
As far as it being a yawn, yes, maybe that's a yawn but my girlfriend had the old camera and we wanted something to capture our various adventures in a unique way without having to pay a buttload for 8mm processing/digitizing.
Here's a short clip I shot of my dog Zeiss at the park.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'll go fuck myself.
