WTB: a quality spanner wrench that uses interchangeable tips for working with lenses and camera parts. I don't trust cheap tools that I see online- I'd like something that is well made and won't bend or break if used with some force.

Same with a small set of JIS screwdrivers- I read lots of comments here on photorio and elsewhere that many of the sets sold today are not really JIS or are not very good quality. So if you have a few to sell let me know.

Alternately please contact me by PM if you can recommend specific brands and sources, although I'd rather buy a used set from one of you guys here on phototrio than a new set elsewhere online.

Thanks,
Keith

🛡️ Classifieds Safety Reminder: Please stay safe when buying and selling. Scams via hacked accounts are on the rise globally.

Best Practices: Always use a verified payment method with buyer protection (avoid "PayPal Friends & Family"). Services like Escrow.com are highly secure. Be suspicious of random unsolicited contact via Private Message. If you see suspicious behavior, please use the Report link on the post immediately.
At the moment, the only one I'm aware with interchangeable tips of is by Japan Hobby Tool and sold in the USA by B&H.

I guess you could also ask Curt Fargo: Once upon a time, he sold such things, though it's been awhile. I may have purchased my tools as early as the 1980s or 1990s. Lens spanner is marked "Fargo Enterprises, Vacaville Calif USA". Screwdriver-style tool is unbranded.

You can convert metric Philips to JIS just by carefully filing the tips down a bit.

That said, I have the Vessel set and they are a good fit, but you should buy both long and the short shafted tools in the kits.

A Correction:
The full 0000,000,00,0 JIS short shaft set is YD-56S.

Because these are only 3/4" to maybe, 1", I still recommend the longer, black handled JIS cross headed versions, as part of a more complete kit that will allow some reach down into a small camera body

If you decide to buy new, non vessel flat head micro screwdrivers, you'll do no better than Wera, which have good steel and thinner blades than PBSwiss, or Wiha and you can get a range of metric and SAE flats that are in different shaft lengths and work well with with Hasselblad, Canon F cameras, Nikons and other cameras.

Cheers and Good Luck!

ThorLabs makes a high-quality spanner wrench that you should consider: https://www.thorlabs.com/thorproduct.cfm?partnumber=SPW801

It looks like a very nice tool but, the one thing about spanners that bothers me is the adjustment dial can move while in use.

My Calipers and micrometers all have locks, so why is there none for these tools.
