Wanting to do 5x7 platinum printing, but I don't have much room. Something smaller but similar to the 11x14 that Bostick and Sullivan sells is what I'm looking for.

Hook it up to run on photo timer and build a box around it to hold it in the right position.

Any ideas on how to make the tanner horizontal? Or how would it work vertically with a contact print frame?

Although I've not done it, I've seen others build a simple box, with wood strips that hold it in the proper horizontal position. Table saw, a little plywood, some glue, a few nails or screws, a drill and a little time . . . that should do it. Oh, you might need a Big Chief tablet and a crayola for the design phase.

I built a frame out of 2x2 boards. It's basically just two running left to right, and two laying on top of it running up and down. It sits on the edges of my printing frame (an 11x14) and holds the lights about 4" above it. You could just lay them down or glue the boards on top of each other, but I attached them with screws and some metal brackets I found at the hardware store. I don't have a picture of it on hand, but I can take one later for you if it would help. It's all stuff you can buy at any home improvement store for a few buck and have assembled in less than an hour.

Anybody using a UV exposure unit which are comercially available for making circuit boards?

These are already horizontal, and sometimes you can make a cheap catch in the bay.

I think they should work, but I am worried about the uniformity of the exposure?
