As per the subject, I am looking for a light-tight wide angle (a.k.a. "bag") bellows for my new old Sinar F. Doesn't have to be new, just need it to be in usable condition.
I've just found out I can't focus a 65mm lens to infinity with a standard bellows.
I'm in the usable limit with a normal bellows with a SA 90/8 with my Sinar F2, you'll certainly need one! If you can't find one here for sale, try out also at LFP info forum, as I saw one for sale a week ago or so,
Thanks for the tip. I'm not a frequent user of the LFPF, but I'm gonna take a look there. Maybe I should, now that I finally got a large format camera!
For a moment, I thought I was going to source this locally!
I will! If you needed a standard bellows I have 2 or even 3 spares laying around here and would be glad to let it go for you, but bag bellows I own just one, so, next time maybe,
I found it was not difficult to make a bag bellows (but not for a Sinar) in case you are not able to buy one.
I took off the old bellows which had a pyramid shape about the right overall size for the bellows... and used it like a shoemaker's last. I shaped a piece of kid leather over it, folded and glued the folds. Cut a circle in the front for the lens mounting side and the other side was the open side, which I tucked under some steel bars that I cut to match the original mounting bars.
Afterwards I used black "shoe polish" to fill in pinholes/pores in the leather.
Thanks for the tip, Bill! I don't feel I'm capable of a feat like that right now.
There are some bag bellows for sale on the big auction site right now. I think I'm gonna get one of those. Still, I would prefer to buy from someone here.
