Hallo,

I am looking for two red filters for my Hasselblad: a Series VIII (= 63 mm non screw) and a B50.
If possible only in (Continental) Europe...
Thanks.

You can buy adapters to use 67mm screw-in filters (much easier to find and better selection) for both B50 and B60 lens types.

That's what i use.

For B60 I was able to purchase R25 filters from Heliopan but for R23, R29 and 720 in 67mm and use a B60 to 67mm adapter.

This is what I've done . I despise bay filters. The cheapo 67mm China bay adapters work great and put a nice B&W or similar filter on and you're set. I have other lenses that use 67mm. I don't need to buy twice.

To the OP, if you're using the 50mm Distagon CT*, then unscrew the Series VIII holder and you're left with a 67mm thread.

That way, you can avoid the search for Series VIII's.

I think the B60 to 67mm adapters can vary in quality, the genuine Hasselblad one is superb, the Chinese knock-off's less so.

Well, I tried the adapter but then I couldn't use the lens hood and that is the reason why I was looking for the genuine filters, but thanks for the swift answer!

I love B60 filters. Easy on, easy off and they fit within the lens hood. The 67mm B60 adapters do not play well with lens hoods.

They are easy off with the lens caps too. I've found that if I'm willing to bend the "prongs" a bit it will keep them on the lens instead of coming off with the cap. The disgustingly cheapo China aluminum Bay 60 to 67mm are a little less traumatic for me to "adjust" with a pair of needle nose pliers .
Your point is well taken. However, I'm still able to fit genuine Hasselblad lens hood over the 67mm filter, I use a center pinch lens cap.

I have a B50 to 55mm adapter that on my 250mm allow lens hood mounting with filters on.

I guess B60 to 67mm will prevent hood mounting while B50 to 55mm is just as large as the lens external diameter, when filter is on.

As a matter of fact, I tried that famous adapter (se photo) and it doesn't take 67 mm filters, at least the B+W ones, because the screw pitch is different.
Hasselblad appears to use different measures, so I will have to look for genuine series VIII (= series 63) for my Distagon's and Biogon, and even for the B50 lenses like the Planar and Sonnar for which there is no screw in hood that would fit that Hasselblad # 40053 adapter.

CORRECTION: I tired it today again and I will be buying some 67mm lens caps for my 67mm filters. The lens hood will work with the 67mm B60 filter adapter. I am so embarrassed that I will sit in the corner for a while.:redface:

FWIW, I've got a set of Series Vll filters mostly Hasselblad or Leitz and a couple of B+W. They're marked as the following.

Hasselblad:
R6-50=red
YG-2=Yellow-Green/Green just slightly lighter green than the Leitz GGr.

Leitz:
Or=orange
GGr=green
1=yellow

B+W:
090=red/dark red
KR15=brown, conversion tungsten film to daylight

Tiffen #87=infrared, visually opaque

They're in a Domke filter pouch, no individual cases

Send me a PM if you would be interested in the set, I'm not interested in breaking these up.

That looks like the adapter for 63mm filters.

The one you're looking for is part number 41530, the B60 to 67mm filter adapter.

I believe that B50 lenses need 63mm filters, B50 to 63mm adapter. I know that B60 lenses use 67mm filters, B60 to 67mm adapter.

Ah, sorry, got room in the corner for one more Sirius?

40053 is the correct adapter to use 63mm filters on a B50 lens.

For some reason i had latched onto the need for a B60 adapter :whistling:
