I have no idea if they are still making this and the latest information I've found is from 2009. I am interested in picking one up if someone has one that they find themselves not using. If you can part with one please let me know along with your price. Thank you!
Francesco, I would not part with mine, but the company was in San Francisco, had Red Light something or other in its name. I suspect they are out of business. You might use the Red light name for a search.
They are not as good as a Pentax, but really nice to have such a small size.
They got threatened with a lawsuit over use of the name Red (probably that Skelton guy, or someone else just as silly), and changed to meteRED light.
It's well hidden ... as the first result in a google search for 'metered light'. The blog explains their business (part-time "garage industry" for both principals) and the difficulties they've encountered sourcing parts and services. It's a simple email to contact them about current availability.
I don't own one, but I've handled one owned by a friend, and it's a very nice piece of work. Far smaller than any other spot meter, rugged, and fast in use.
MY latest contact from one of the owners indicated that they were out of production because of the difficulty of obtaining components which met their standards. This was basically a "garage" business as both principals held significant day jobs and only worked at night and on weekends.
