Greetings,

I am informed by my local camera repair service that Pentax once made an accessory for the 67 metered prism and body. It was described to me as a plastic sleeve that fit over the speed control selector, enabling the selector knob to be turned with greater ease when using the metered prism.

I’m at a loss as to what this accessory might specifically be called, but if anyone has one that you no longer need I’d appreciate being contacted.

Thanks!
Russ

You could probably make yourself a makeshift piece using epoxy plasticine. Put the plasticine on the shutter dial, put on the prism, and then remove the prism. Then let the plasticine sit for just a few minutes so it gets a bit solid, then remove the plasticine being careful so it keeps exactly the same shape.

Then you leave the "makeshift Shutter Dial Adapter made of epoxy plasticine" sit for hours until it gets fully solid. Afterwards you can use it!

Note that I don't own the metered prism so I haven't tried this idea.

Paul- Thank you for providing the correct name for the accessory. Flavio81- Thanks for the great DIY idea! In doing some reading yesterday I also ran across a suggestion to use a rubber O ring that is fit for the diameter of the shutter dial. I'll likely give one of these a try.
