I am looking for parts for an Olympus-35 vintage rangefinder.
-specifically, right now I am looking for a film pressure plate. But if you have a parts camera you could sell cheap, I will take the whole thing.
Thanks!
I have several 35's that are not working/parts cameras. But Olympus used the designation "35" for a number of cameras, from the late 1940's thru the 1970's. Exactly which one are you looking for?
I'm assuming for now that it is either a 35-S or a 35-S II, but even those had a number of variations during their production run. If you can post some more specifics I'll check and see if I have something close to it.
If I've got one that matches I'd let you have it for the cost of postage and nominal bit for packing it up and taking it to the post office.
Actually the camera I am working on is a olympus wide-s. This is my second one, so I know what the part should look like. I will send you a pic tonight, but it looks pretty standard. There were quite a few peices missing, which I found suitable alternative from om10s. I tried fashioning a pressure plate from the om10, but did not for quite right.
You are correct that the S II and Wide S are the same except for the 35mm lens being mounted on the Wide version. I have a number of S II's and perhaps an extra Wide S. Let me dig them out of their hiding places and look thru them. I'll let you know what I find.
Sorry for the delay, but it took a while to find where I had put them. I've got a non-working S-II, S/N 174566. It is the f1.8 lens, but neither the film advance or shutter release work. The top cap has a lot of brassing but the body and lens are nearly pristine. The pressure plate (and the whole back cover) are in great condition.
If you want it, I'll send it off for the actual price of postage plus five bucks to cover the packaging and the drive to the post office. Let me know your details.
