Want to Buy WTB: Manual for Bronica EC TTL Meter Finder

Trader history for indy_kid (12)

I believe I have one. I'll check later today.

I was going to scan it and send it to you but I don't have it. That's the one thing I don't have the box and manual for.

He has the manual for the EC, but not for the removable meter-finder (the meter was built into the body for the EC-TL model). The TTL meter is briefly mentioned in the EC manual, but there's no description of how to operate it.

The light sensors are almost certainly bad; it pegs the needle in even moderate light. I can set the shutter speed from the finder, so that part of it is still functional. The meter doesn't need to be on for the shutter speed dial on the meter to function (it overrides the speed dial on the body, with power from the battery in the body).

There are 4 small CdS (cadmium sulfide) light-dependent resistors in the meter. When light hits them, the resistance of the sensor drops, allowing more current through, which will deflect the needle more. Pretty straightforward circuit. I discovered that you can put the batteries in backwards, and it still functions, which is kind of neat.

I doubt I'll have it repaired. I can use a modern light meter to get the settings, then adjust the camera accordingly. I would have to do the adjustments even if the meter was working perfectly.

I found the manual for the earlier S2 model meter finder posted on facebook's Bronica users group.
I had been searching high and low and eventually joined them and hit paydirt.
