I am looking for an RB67 Pro S or SD body only, but I would consider a kit with one back and one lens.

If you are new to this camera, I would suggest you buy at least 2 extra backs - the backs tend to be most used (and needing replacements)

Try to find the SD. If you do buy one you'll be wise to buy a couple of the sleeves or collars for the larger front opening. It gives a firm fit for the earlier lenses. Once I bought the SD body after owning the ProS for years I bought collars for all the earlier lenses so I did not need to change them each time I changed to a different lens. I just struggled trying to do that in any cold weather usage. The collars can be found at times on eBay for $15 each. I think B&H had them for around $32 a few years back now.

I have a Pro S now but the bellows is getting quite ratty. I bought a NOS bellows off ebay but it only fits the SD unfortunately. Given the price of RB67 bodies and the price of repairs, I am thinking that I am further ahead just getting a replacement body.

Unfortunately it seems the ProS bellows part is not available.
The bellows assembly for newer bodies has slighly different spacing of the (4) body side mounting screws, so the holes don't line up.

I was able to modify the newer bellows by cutting the rear aluminum plate and adding flat washers under the screw heads.
The camera is now light tight and I think the bellows will be secure in the long term.

Here is a link to a dir with records of my replacement project: photos, some description, and the modification details.

Thanks a lot for this. It confirms my suspicions that although it might be possible to adapt an Pro SD bellows to a Pro S, I am definitely not the guy who can do it! This is why I am looking to buy a new body with a decent bellows.

Do all of the Mamiya lenses fit a Pro SD? I have an early 90mm lens (neither C nor K) and two C lenses: 127mm and 180mm.

For the most part yes. Again, the non C and C require the adapter collar I mentioned to fit snug. This was do to the larger opening on the SD. The larger opening was done to that vintage unit to accommodate the 75 S/T and the later 500mm lenses.
Here is a PDF on the SD you can use to help with your overall thoughts and usage.

I did a quick search for an adapter collar with no luck. I also talked to a medium format specialist at B&H and he couldn't find anything either (not on their site or anywhere else). I would like to get a Pro SD body but I don't want to have to change all my lenses. Any other thoughts on where I might find such an adapter?

You really don't need that collar....

SD has a bigger hole on the "front standard" than the outlet of the lens. Mount is the same size though. I've used mine without that collar and I did not observe any light leaks or wobble.

B&H used to carry that item as late as about a year ago.

The Gods of medium format common sense salute your decision and welcome your entry into the wonderful world of Mamiya RB67.

A Pro-S camera is just fine, it can also use the Pro-SD lenses, as long as they are marked "K/L" or "K", think of "Kompatible". "L"-only lenses will only fit on the SD.

Bellows condition should be inspected, but then a really good technician should be able to patch bellows or create a new one.

Also, small pinholes in bellows can be easily repaired by applying black nail varnish; or a mix of PVA glue and some black pigment.

That's a shame about the lens collar. I got them from Adorama as recently as 6 months ago. I've heard it is more of a support issue than a light leak issue. The ones a got were always metal. Put the rings on your most used lenses.

I have been trying to send you a private message, to no avail. Well, you might have got my various attempts but they do not show up in my "Sent" items. Please send me a private message if you get a moment.

Thanks

follow-up: I bought a Pro SD body from KEH. The lenses I have seem to fit ok but I will investigate that adapter for at least one lens to see if I really need it.

Sounds good. Congrats on the new SD unit. I think I got mine from KEH years ago too.
As the spacer is not significant in thickness it might appear to be unnecessary. And yes the lens will work without it. However, as hard as it is to cock the lens / shutter to me any additional play long term can't be a good thing IMO.

Your last comment sounds like good advice. I will be on the lookout for the adapter. If you see one out there, let me know!

Thanks for all the help, guys!

Looking at the link I've posted above seems to have helped sell several of the adapters in one weeks time. It is showing 14 sold to date and that was not near that high last week. It also states 10 still available? If that's true then you should be able to get more there if you decide to do so.

Yeah, thanks for the link, I grabbed 3 myself. You may or may not need one but my 90mm K/L needed it for sure.

I have an RB rig that I haven't used much and am willing to sell.
Camera, several lenses, and several backs.
Message me for details.
I'll be reasonable in price...not looking to make money
