In need for some cable releases.
Much have a long throw to actuate a prontor self cocking shutter. I had a bunch of those but sold them and now my regular cables do not work.

Any length would do but shorter is better.

I have two acme/Ilex shutters, #4 and $5. I have the two Linhof cables below. They are the only releases other than an air bulb that I have tried that have a long enough plunger to release the shutters. They are beautiful and remarkably well made cable releases, but brutally priced.
I have not tried a Gepe

Those cable release prices are a killer! Who buys them at that price?!

I would check ebay. Look at pics of the back plunger and try your luck with one that is long in the back. Or ask the seller to measure the length when pushed.

Also maybe this one?

you might also want to go to ebay and search for degroff shutter release ...
the used market is where to find them ... old, new, they all work great.
if it is just the piston, find a medical supply store and get a hose + bulb ..
you and your lenses will be happy.

I went out and ordered a bunch of cables some of which arrived today, and the bottom line is the throw was fine even on my super short vintage gitzo cable fired the other prontors, but the problem was this one shutter which needs to be cycled trough the preview to complete the self cocking sequence, which i think is a problem with this particular prontor. So i am just moving on now, and have some spare cable releases
