I've been kicking around the idea of snagging a Canon 50mm f/0.95. However, I really don't care to pay the highly inflated asking prices on Ebay. Just curious if anyone has one for sale...and if so, how much? I'm about one week away from making the purchase...if I do.
 
I am going to rain upon your parade. There is NOTHING special about this lens other than the fact that it ranks highly in the 'pornographic photographia' annals. It is a sexy lens, just because it is so 'fast'. But, tallenpatterson, be not so fast with wanting a lens that is so, so, so soft wide open. You will pay anything from $1,000 to $3,000, money which could be far better spent with the Canon 1.2 (if you MUST have such speed.)

I own one and I really do know. After 8 years of ownership I haven't thought to sell it for a single second.
 
Well, the thread is a bit old and I had already moved past the desire to grab one. Thanks for the water though!

Nah, already opted to pass on one anyway. Was considering if someone gave a better deal than the down payment on a car at $3k that seems to be all over Ebay. In the end, opted to go a different route.
 
So, what did you get???
 
There is one on fredmiranda for $2650 (no affiliation).
I'm curious though tallenpatterson, what do you think you should be able to get one for? The market price I've seen for them has started at about $2500 and up. And they sell at that level.

At the time I was looking, seemed like they were all at $3k. That was probably due to what happened to be listed at the time.
