Want to Buy WTB: Bay1 Infrared filter

I'm sure these exist, don't they? I'd like to find a Bay1 style opaque (R72/#87 type) Infrared filter for my Minolta Autocord. I've been holding a 52mm Nikon mount glass filter over the lens, which I can assure you is far from convenient! I suppose I could get a UV filter and cut one of those Lee polyester filters to fit, yes?

Update: I just learned that there are Bay-1 to 52mm adapter rings available, so considering how unlikely it is to find an actual bay-1 type filer, I will likely buy this adapter to fit my 52mm glass filter.

How about getting a step-up or down adapter or B mount adapter of the appropriate size? I have used Bay adapters with B+W filters on Hasselblad lenses.

I used a Bay 1 adapter, going all the way to Series VII because I had such a filter, but if I were going from scratch, I'd probably head toward an adapter to a threaded filter around 40-something millimeters (the Series 7 apparatus does interfere with the viewfinder -- though not to the point of being totally unusable). I wouldn't mind owning a Bay 1 IR filter if I trip over one that's affordable, but much of that stuff seems to be priced as "collectable" and the IR is rare to begin with. One also needs to avoid the old time high cut-offs with today's barely IR film.

I agree the TLR is attractive for IR work as it avoids trying to see through an opaque filter. I happily used my Yashica 124g for my most recent IR work.

Which actually isn't all that recent -- time sure flies! Actually later was a brief encounter with SFX200.

I've used this option many times with my Yashica Mat-124. It works just fine IMO.

There is a Rollei bay 1 IR filter. It's marked 'Infrarot', and is somewhere between 695-715. It works very well. I got mine from a shop in London. Given that these were made in Germany, a search of the German eBay site may be worthwhile?
