Hi, Brian.

I do not have an Ansco but I do have a RHS 5x7 that was my camera for years. It needs some work but is useable. I posted some pics of it in this thread: (there was a url link here which no longer exists)

Let me know if you're interested and I'll provide more details.

Look on ebay. I got my wood flatbed Ansco for $250. It's gray with funky red bellows. It's lighter than my Sinar F 4x5.

Don't buy a B&J without an extension track! (That Ebay one doesn't have it). You get 15" of draw without one, out of nearly 25" that the bellows is capable of, and you will never find one if you don't get it with the camera! 15" is barely enough for 4x5, not enough for 5x7.

Anyway, the Ansco is a much more ergonomic camera to use. The main advantage of the B&J is more and bigger swings and shifts.

I have one of each, and greatly prefer the Ansco. The swings, etc., though less, are certainly sufficient. On the Ansco, the extension is built in, always there, and slides out the back from the main track body, so you always have it with you.

Any chance you have a standard 5x7 back for it? Beautiful camera

If you buy that gorgeous eBay camera... I have a 5x7 back for it... but mine is painted black and not as pretty. I can exchange for your 4x5 back plus some difference.

I MUCH prefer dealing via eBay and I don't think such a trade is possible via eBay.

Yes I do

It's a Burke and James camera and has a standard 5x7 back. It's battle scarred but I love using it. It's compact and light.

I have a 193o's 5x7 Ansco like you're wanting. Although not restored, it has been well taken care of, has no light leaks, and everything works as it should. PM me if you are intereted.
