Hello there!

Well, I'd like to shoot some rolls of film through my Agfa Ansco Viking f7.7, but I've come across the problem of not having a second 620 spool or a changing bag. Of course I could just go into my bathroom and change it, but I'd like the ease of a changing bag if anything. I'm also interested in experimenting with different film types (not limited to 120/620), so if you have something unusual that might interest a medium format newbie, let me know! I'm going to shoot with some 35mm film that I've never used before (Fuji Superia 100 for Press Professionals, Ektar 100), but I'd like to do more experimenting with different small formats as well.

Of course, I will pay if you have an asking price, and I'm sorry if this is inappropriate to add, but if you have something laying around and would rather just leave it to someone that would benefit from it more, I'd be glad to pay for shipping if you'd just send it my way. I'm still in college and I'm in a portfolio development class (my last class), so I'm trying my best to impress.

Also, I have an Ion Omni Scan for trade for anyone needing a negative/slide scanner. I value it at $50. It works perfectly, I just have another scanner that I prefer to use, so this one just sits around.

Thank you to anyone that could help!

P.S. since I have so many requests, if someone feels this should be in the "Anything goes" section, feel free to move my thread.

By "reel", do you mean "spool"?

Nathan, I sent you a PM about a possible source for a 620 spool. In the mean time, have you checked to see whether trimming a regular 120 roll will work in this camera? I am not familiar enough with it to know for sure, but that could make life a little easier. Of course you will still need to acquire some 120 film to make it work. Good luck.

Jeff

I have looked into trimming a spool, but it seems like a 620 spool is just a tinsy bit shorter. Thanks though.

Thanks Hatchetman. I think I'll either buy Ektar for landscapes or Portra for... well, portraits. I've shot a roll of that Lomo stuff in my girlfriend's Holga and I liked the results, but I think I want richer colors. It seems like Lomography purposely goes for that old desaturated look when it comes to their film, and that's fine, but it's not what I'm looking for.

you could also go to your local thrift store, see if they have any kodak brownie cameras that used 620 and see if one has an empty spool inside -- most do. Buy the whole camera, ur set with a spool AND a nice shelf decoration.

Seems someone beat me to it! I grabbed a couple of 620 spools for you today from my local second hand dealer. PM me your address and I'll send them on over to you.
