Anyone out there selling the 64oz film developing tanks? These are the tanks that can fit (4) 120mm film reels or (8) 35mm film reels...Let me know what type of tank it is and if the cap/head leaks. If it can fit a Kinderman cap/head, please let me know as well.
I think you are going to have some difficulty in finding 120mm film for those tanks.
Even the new Star Wars film was shot in only 65mm film...
The only tank I know that fits 8 reels of 35mm or 4 of 120 film is the Paterson Super System 4.
You can buy one brand new from most good photographic shops like Process Supplies or Silverprint.
You haven't stated where you are.
Unless you live in the Moon, you should be able to afford the postage costs from the UK.
Enjoy it and I hope you use a lot of film in it!
I've used the tall 64oz Stainless Steel ones with SS reels. I think they were Nikon. Mixed blessing, though.
I found them to be a big PITA and ended up with uneven development, even when dropping the lifting rod loaded with 8 35mm reels into the tank pre-filled with developer, and lifting the stack out for stop and fix in different tanks.
Now the 32oz, 4 roll stack tanks work great! Much easier to load, invert, and unload. Get 2 or more of those.
Thanks for getting back to me. I should have been a little more specific. I'm based in New York. For shipping purposes, my zip: 11021. I usually use the 32 oz SS tanks with SS reels and sometimes 2 at a time. That's fine with me, but I still like to have the option for 4 120 roll films in a single tank for development. Please PM if you are selling!
Jobo Multitank 5 will do four 120 rolls (two rolls per reel) so, four or eight 120 rolls per run.
I have a Honeywell Nikor 64 oz SS tank that will do four 120 metal rolls. I wrap blue masking tape around it
after I load, cause it tends to leak. Both work well for me.
I have two SS tanks that take four 120 reels each, one a Nikkor, the other generic Japanese. The latter is actually better, because it has no seam, so Kindermann-type tops don't leak[much] . I've never had a problem with uneven development, perhaps because I use two-bath D-23. No, neither is for sale. I also have a very long tank that takes six 120 reels, but it's quite awkward to use.
