Hi folks,

I have a Burke & James 4x5 Press Camera, and the latch that holds the collapsible shade for the focusing screen needs replaced.

Therefore, I'm looking for either that specific part, a Burke & James 4x5 back (to replace mine or just salvage the part off of), or -- if nothing else -- a B&J Press parts camera.

Thanks!
Jason

B&J used two different styles of latch for those. One style is the one mine has, a pivoting finger, the other is like the one on my 5x7, which is a simple tab that clicks under a rolled metal piece. The other Speed Press I owned had the second style. I'll take pics for you in a couple of minutes.

Thanks .. didn't realize there were two variants. If I replace the whole back, I'm assuming this would be a non-issue (the whole latching mechanism is entirely contained on the back).

My camera has the simple tab that clicks under a rolled metal piece.
