I've got a Yankee safelight that takes filters 4" in diameter I believe (not in front of me at the moment).

They are different than the circular Kodak filters which are 5".

I only have an amber and I need a dark red for ortho materials.

If such a thing exists, let me know, and if you've got one, even better.

ALTERNATIVELY, if you've got a red bulb that you want to sell, I'd take it.

I actually have a red theater gel. Have you found that it's safe & effective?

(I guess so, otherwise you wouldn't have mentioned it... )

I can't really say how safe it would be. Usual tests would apply. It was in a box of things I used many, many years ago. If I recall I used the gel with the dark amber filter in place as well, that's how I found it. You might try that or several layers of the gel. If you want PM me your address and I'll drop it in the mail. BTW it's just under 4 1/2 inches in diameter so might want to double check the size first.
