I don't know the specifics of what you are looking for. I do have a Singer Graflex 6x9 back that fits 'graflok' backs. Let me know if that will work. I also have a 6x7, same Singer style.

Dan, I'm all for solidarity among Dans and I certainly don't want to cost you a sale, but the 2x3 RB has a Graflex back, won't accept roll holder made to fit only a Graflok back. That's your Singer Graflex roll holder, which is probably badged RH-8.

OP, look on eBay. Very early "Graphic 23" roll holders are hybrids and will attach properly to a 2x3 RB with a Graflex back. I have one for my 2x3 RB.

If you look at your RB's back, you'll see a metal lip at the right (insertion) end of the gate. This mates with a slot in the roll holder. Roll holders for Graflok backs have a ridge at the right end that mates with a slot in the back. Hybrid roll holders like mine have a slot and a ridge.

eBay sellers often don't know what they have. I found my hybrid by looking at listings for 2x3 Graflex roll holders. I found a later roll holder for Graflex backs only (slot, no ridge, keep an eye out for one) the same way.

Good luck, have fun,

Dan

Dan2, as a point of curiosity, then, could one make a modern roll holder into a Graflex holder by milling a slot in the proper place on the face? Are they otherwise identical? Getting the appropriate roll holder has been the main thing preventing me from buying one of the small Graflex cameras, but I could mill a slot, if that would do it.

I can't comment on the 2x3, but I doubt if it's that simple. for 4x5 the dimensions of the cut film holders (at least) are different.

It might be simpler to convert the back to a graflok back and then look for a graphic rollfilm holder. (I have to assume that a Graflok back could be made to fit a Graflex SLR.) If you haven't checked, Graflex Org may discuss the issue.

mdarnton, I've never done it, but I've seen (where? damned memory fails me when I need it) an account of milling a slot in a 2x3 Graphic (made to fit only a Graflok back) roll holder so that it will go on a 2x3 Graflex SLR with a Graflex back.

binglebugbob, you're right about 4x5ers, but 2x3ers aren't like them. I have an early 2x3 Graphic 2x3 hybrid roll holder that I've used on my 2x3 RB and that attaches properly to my 2x3 Graphics (all with Graflok backs). I touched it yesterday when I moved the RB. Honest. I'm not making this up, hybrids' existence was a surprise to me too. See http://www.cameraeccentric.com/html/info/graflex_1.html
