one was offered for sale either here or over at the large format forum. I don't remember it ever selling...maybe still out there?

I think I may have bought the lens you're referring too (it was out here in OZ)... For what it's worth I've looked for a long time and there really are not bargains on the Sironar S series... Highly sort after, small and the best coverage in their class. The 150s often go for $600-800 ..the 210s a bit more.

There's one on ebay for $440-ish, it's in a SInar DB shutter and marked Sinaron SE. Grab it, put it in a #1 shutter and there you have it. Not a bad way to go, usually cheaper than the sironar-s branded ones. item # 281401360079

maybe not. These Sironar-S lenses usually have shims to mate a given set of cells to the specific shutter. Best to find one already in shutter (from the factory) me thinks.

Shims can be transferred, if any exist. Plenty of people have had fine success remounting sinar DB shuttered lenses to normal shutters. nothing to worry about.

Indeed. I have a 300mm Sinaron S (Apo Sironar N) that I moved out of the DB shutter (with the rings) into a copal 3. It's incredibly sharp.
