So a group of Apugers go to the wrecking yard with the esteemed Mr Dowdell as our leader on Dec 30th.
We drive through a blizzard of snow that quite frankly I thought would end us all up in Emergency.

We arrive, weather clears , 12 rolls of film for the Nobelex and I know exactly what I am going to shoot. I set up the camera at hyperfocal distance for approximately 3ft away from the objects of my intent.

Here goes , Silver Competition won, Emulsion Mag competition won.
Alex Hauley you don't stand a chance . I'm thinking first, second and honourable mentions with this shoot.

Get back to the lab, Laura develops the film, contrast density , content looks perfect.
Well I better check with a loupe , these suckers are award winners.

Wait a minute, every frame is totally out of focus, I am sure I had the setting at under 5ft !!!!!!!!
My bright partner takes one look and says*Don't you know the Noblex is set for meters not feet.
Ok Mike , I want to go back, give me a call this is an emergency.

Funny! (or maybe not) Using HFD is great but I stil... man, not having a groundglass to look at can be a bitch, huh?

Bob, let me know if and when you head back up.

.... huge lead in story ....

Aww shucks guys ... I did a loopback thru' the eyelet, tucked the waste underneath, pulled it all tight, the leader was brand new stock, certainly not more the ten years old ... and you shoulda' seen the size of that salmon ....

cheers and sympathy ... hehehe
