I just got my Kindermann 6x6 projector today and mounted up my first 6x6 slides in GEPE glass mounts. All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!! I have read about projecting medium format but these Velvia 6x6's just Rock! :D

Anybody out there still projecting these wonderful medium format slides?

Jamie

I'm still looking for an affordable MF projector to project all my Velvia slides. I picked up an old Ansco Dualet from eBay for cheap but it generates too much heat and warps the slide - not good at all.

BTW, where did you get the Kindermann from?

Best I've seen is 4x5 large format slides under my enlarger. Worth doing it just to see those colours that you can't ever scan properly

Sanjay Sen,

I got the kindermann on ebay. I probably paid a little to much because I bought it with buy it now option $299, but I was tired of getting out bid. These projectors show up on ebay about 1 or 2 a month. I have seen them go anywhere from $100 to $500 deppending on the features. Mine is all manual but that is fine for me, no circuit boards to go bad! It came with 4 magazines and a box of free 6x6 mounts. It seems as if 120 transparency shooting is a live and well! I also process my own E6 in a Jobo ALT1000.

I'm a bit ambivalent about the supersaturated look of Velvia on the light table, but projected it can really shine, particularly at high magnifications. A couple of places have been selling Velvia 50 cut down and reperfed in Super-8, and it really projects beautifully.
