for $400 CAD. Geez at that price I might have to get one myself.

I love my F5, but I'll let you know how I feel about it after a month or so of shooting my new F6. :D

At a local camera store, in Calgary? The local camera store I shop at here tries to sell used cameras for close to 80% of their original value, and the last time I brought in a mint SLR as a trade-in, they offered me 1/3 of it's value. It's highway robbery trying to buy/sell used equipment with them. She got a real good deal!

It was at The Camera Store in Calgary. They have another one there for the same price but not in as good a shape as this one.

In Toronto, Canada, Henrys has in store one nearly new F5 for $2500 More than new one was.

Sounds as if it is a "kit" with a few lenses at that price.

Wow, I can get a new F6 for less.

You can get an EOS 3 for less...

That's what I have. It's professional, but I was hoping that the 1V or equivalent can be bought at that price. Maybe in 3-5 years of a 1V will get to the $300 range.

This guy seems to need to get rid of his F5 which he says only has 2 rolls through it:

I was going to offer him $350 for the body and see if he would take it, but I can't even get that much cash together, so it isn't worth it.

Best,

Will

This seems like a fantastic buy Will, and most of the stuff that's sold has probably gone to digi users. I'd think it was worth the call to go in even lower than $350 as the camera is the only film-specific part of the deal. Good luck!

This guy seems to have taken a tremendous plunge into the F5 and ancilliary kit for it to fall flat after two rolls and suddenly deciding a very ordinary digi will do the trick.

Just seems a little strange. To use a motorcycle analogy: I got myself a top of the range BMW/ Harley Davidson etc and got the wife a Vespa scooter then decided that a Vespa was all I needed as well. Hmmm........

I hope I am just being unnecessarily suspicious.

The going price for an F5 that's *truly* in mint condition at The Auction Site seems to be running about $400. to $500. with those towards the high end coming with original box, manual, etc.

There is an F5 for $750 USD asking price in my local camera store. Lafayette, LA. It looks very nice, if only I had the money.....

Down to $400!

About half the price I got my first used one just 2 years ago!

But heck, I've shot a lot of rolls through that camera! :D

I've always thought that if the cost of the film (and processing) you put through the camera exeeds the cost of the camera - it was a good purchase.

Hey, I bought my EOS-5 in EX+ for $400 (well, $399) at KEH.com about 4 years ago. The cost of that camera today is now $129. With an EOS-3 in EX+ at $265, I may upgrade...
