Would you sell as kit or seperate pieces?

I have 2 medium format kits, Bronica EC single body with 4 lens, 3 viewfinders, and more. Other is Mamiya C330, 2 bodies and 3 lens and 2 viewfinders. The Mamiya is about a pound lighter and lens much more compact and its for health reasons both spend more time in closet So how would you sell the Bronica kit, as a total kit it will be fairly pricey, at least to me Just hate to mess with selling each piece.

If I were selling I'd accept the first low-ball offer to unload quickly because sooner or later we'll all have to pay folks to take our old MF gear off of our hands

I have sold camera equipment before and I offer a single item price and a group price. Sometimes I will have something that is hard to collect such as a daylight loader for the Tessina camera, a Tessina prism, the Tessina 35mm cassettes, two Tessina wrist straps, and canisters and the Tessina camera. That I would prefer to sell as a group.

I just bought a Hasselblad and considered buying separate pieces and build my that way. In the end I'm happy I didn't because it let me get the equipment faster. Plus being new to the system I knew I had all parts to get cracking right away.

This certainly doesn't apply if a buyer only needs a particular piece but perhaps it's, in any event, best to offer as compete kit and be mentally prepared to sell individual parts if there are requests?

Try selling as a kit first, then split if it doesn't sell. The problem I ran into trying to sell my Mamiya TLR gear was everyone wanted to cherry pick the best pieces, which would leave some parts unsaleable on their own. You could list as a kit for a certain price, but break it down by item prices and make the sum of the parts worth more than the kit price.

I think you have answered your own question. To maximize the dollar amount, you should sell everything piece by piece. On an auction site. I would guess you will get at least double what you could get selling a kit.

I have found that when selling medium format cameras to include a normal focal length lens and waist level finder with the camera and sell the other lenses and finders individually. I would also include a film back attached to the camera and any additional film backs I would sell individually.

I find I get the most money this way. Of course your time may be worth more to you than the extra money that you make.

I am a small time Ebay Seller and have personally sold a ton of medium format gear on Ebay.

I'd break it up, but offer a better price if someone bought the kit.

For instance, Camera, finder & 1 lens: $200
Lens No 2: $50
Lens No 3: $75.

Buy it all for $300.

Option 1) try selling as a complete set first

Option 2) sell 1 body + 1 back + 1 finder + 75 mm lens as a kit, the rest separately

Option 3) find a nice, young, poor photography student and donate the whole set to him/her (if you can afford it)

You will make more money selling everything individually. IF, you can get rid of everything. Otherwise, you just made it harder for yourself left with an incomplete kit to try and sell.

Which means you have to find someone piecing one together. And hope you have something they're wanting. For instance, someone with a kit already isn't likely to be looking for a common 75mm lens. Every kit has one, everyone is someone is going the expense of piecing a kit may be opting for something wider or longer.

This is why I include the normal focal length lens with the camera for sale. There are exceptions however. I would sell a 110mm lens for a RZ67 or a 100mm Zeiss lens for a Hasselblad separate.

This is edging towards "how much is this thing worth". Do your research to determine values before accepting any offers.

I won't list prices but you'll almost certainly raise more money if you sell the major pieces separately. I would probably sell the body with one back, waist level finder and normal lens. The other three lenses would sell separately as would the other two viewfinders. If there's a speed grip that would sell alone as would all other bits of any substantial value.

You are probably going to be disappointed in what early Bronica gear goes for now on Ebay. I sold my 40mm Nikkor lens for $400.00 but they are rare. I got less than $100.00 for my nice Bronica 150mm lens. That's a steal for such a great portrait lens.

Yes I have been following prices on the bay, I got the camera some time ago and got a great price on it. I have only added a film back and the 200mm lens. I am still unsure to sell the Bronica or the Mamiya. Each kit has some things I really like and the Mamiya is 1 pound lighter which helps me carry it. I am worse than a 4 year old at the candy counter, back and forth

Sir you are correct, on going heath issues which limit what I can carry and how far I can walk. I am using more 35mm which I am poor equipped due to selling off to go medium format. And surgery does not have very good odds With the medium formats I have been working out of my truck but there are so many places that's not a option.

I understand entirely. I'm in good health (thank God) but like everyone else I'm advancing in age. My LF gear is gathering dust for the same reasons you describe. Unlike you... I am content leaving I in a closet in hopes that some day I'll wake up younger and with greater vigor. Don't bother wishing me luck on that one.
