Hi All, I’ve been learning a ton from this forum!

I’m in the process of building my first darkroom space, and looking at heating options for winter months. Does anyone have experience with ceiling mounted infrared heaters? I’m wondering if the light is paper safe?

Thanks!

Chris

Sorry- I just realized I probably should have posted this in the B&W forum

It's most likely safe, but you should test it in the same way you'd test a safelight.

If it produces visible light, you better double check. as bdial suggests. I would suspect that it will be perfectly safe. If you use a rapid paper (less common these days) it might fog. I use a electric oil filled radiator, but that's just to take the edge off a already heated lower level room, never gets below 60F normally.
