Soooo...... How was that such a bad swap?A Canon Snappy S that I bought new at a local Drug Store for $50. I then found I liked to take pictures and decided I had to upgrade my equipment. So I traded it for a Pentax ME. The person who owned it felt the Pentax was too complicated for her and liked the little Canon. Since that day I have spent over $15,000 on camera equipment alone. Plus I now own a darkroom and I don't even know how much I spend on film and processing.

The seller was quick to point out that I was contractually obliged to buy it and take it away.
And my number 1 "worst trade ever" (drum roll please)...
1. "BROWN" Horizontal Copy Enlarger - Price $1
I placed a starting bid on this just for fun.. and ended up winning the auction. The seller was quick to point out that I was contractually obliged to buy it and take it away. I asked if it would fit in a pickup and he laughed, said it was 15 feet long. I must have been delusional that week and I rented a big U-haul and drove 100 miles to pick it up. All the time having no frigging clue what I was going to do with it.
When I got there, it was still bolted to the walls of the shop. I helped him detach it, clear a path to the truck launch, and move it 30 feet or so. When It was just to the mouth of the truck launch, I re-measured it and it was actually 17 feet long. That made it too big to fit in the truck and close the back. Thats when I came to my senses and backed out of the deal. I didnt make it back to the rental shop in time, so I was changed for an extra day. Ended up costing me $250.
Worst part is, my wife uses the incident to remind me of my stupidity whenever I get a crazy idea in my head.. "17 feet!"
Bought a dozen 4x5 film holders on e-bay---- reading closer and after opening package, discovered I had purchased a dozen dark slides for 4x5 film holders-- doh....

I know this is not photo related, but I sold my '67 mustang fastback with a 289/4barrel and a 4 speed for a Datsun 210!

Ouch. This must've happened in the 1970's. My older brother basically did the same thing, traded in a Plymouth Barracuda for a Toyota Corolla back around 1974-75. Of course now he wishes he had back that Plymouth.
