Perfect condition Reveni Labs light meter.

This meter:

Works perfectly, undamaged. I just find it too small!

Comes in it's teeny cardboard box w/ quality check card.

Of note Reveni's instructions say to use Alkaline cells with this, not silver oxide. Here in the user manual:

$80 shipped/pp.

FYI this is the size of a sugar cube, if you are a small person. Do not, I repeat do not confuse it with real sugar! Your coffee will not thank you.

I dropped the one I got from Kivis in a cup of coffee and now it’s jittery!!! Do you have the updated one with the over under bars?

No over under bars! NEXT!

If you accidentally swallow this, it will pass through with minimal distress. THAT"S HOW SMALL IT IS!

All kidding aside I thought this was a piece of lint, then I noticed it was a light meter.

I have one of these meters. Great meter! I use it with my Rolleiflex and all the folders that I own. I wouldn't be concerned about the lack of the over/under bar (a later revision) because the initial EV readout tells you the same thing. GLWS

I have the over under meter and didn't even know it. This isn't that kind of a meter.

I mean, yeah, now I know if it is a touch over or under, so I can be SUPER precise, but mostly it's just a great tiny way to get metering when using an old camera in weird mixed lighting. Amazed how well I can read it for something so inconspicuous.

I'm not saying this meter is small, but I thought Baxter had a tick. When I looked closer, it was the Reveni meter - he must have used it for a shoot and forgot to put it back.

This is serious business. Huss is posting cute dog photos to help sell the meter. If I didn’t already have two, I would buy it before the photos of sad dogs because no one has made an offer.

You already have two? Ok, between you and me (because no-one else is reading this) do you like them? How do you aim them to get a reading?

I have both the original Kickstarter version, like yours, that I bought from Kivis and the update with a bar that shows how much the reading is over or under. The biggest problem so far has been battery life. I emailed the developer, Matt Bechberger, he said the battery should last for months but that hasn’t been the case so I always carry a spare. I like them enough to use them as my only meter. The Sekonic 308 went to a local shop and the Reveni is it. For metering, the angle of acceptance is about 45 degrees, which means you have to be careful about not over exposing because of too much sky. If I can move closer to the subject, it helps for a more accurate reading. It’s a good meter to pair with a wide angle lens, matching the same angle angle of view as a 35. If you use filters, simply divide the filter factor by the box speed and use that as your ISO. I did spend some time with the first meter a gray card and the Sekonic dialing in matching reading by adjusting both the EV and the calibration button. Eventually, I went back to the factory settings, they’re close enough for B&W film. The tiny buttons take some getting use to but I like the bright OLED readout and it’s on the back of the meter, not the top. I can either look up from the eyepiece or tilt the camera forward to read the settings. I also bought the wrist strap, so you can feel like Spider-Man when pointing the meter at a subject. I think it’s worth keeping and experimenting more. It will never equal a bigger meter and it has limitations but I find it more convenient than the phone apps and more accurate than Sunny 16. Hope this helps and you can always PM if you have more questions. Just no sad doggie photos.

Since you take a lot of photos at the beach, it would be worth the effort to adjust the EV on the Reveni to compensate for the reflectivity of the sand. Using a camera like your M7 it would be easy to set the EV on the Reveni until the readings match.

Do not need another light meter, however reading the praise am thinking I want to give this one a try.

How do I make this happen?

Arthur

Wow dood, thanks for the detailed reply. During daylight hours I just go by Sunny 16, I use meters indoors, dawn, dusk etc. Your check is in the mail.
