World Pinhole Photography Day or What I was going to submit.

I never read the WPPD rules, so I thought I could use an image that I had taken near the actual day. That is what happens when you don't check things out! I took these on a great weather day early last week. As it says, it is the US Customs House in Charleston, South Carolina.

Homemade 4x5 pinhole camera.
Kodak Tri-X 320 film.

I'm trying something today, inside, but the exposure is loooooooong! I'm not sure if it will work, but if it does, I will submit it.

Too bad you jumped the gun on the date, you've definitely got the hardware and the technique in hand! Though I fell back to medium format this year, I have to admit 4x5 (and up) does seem to produce the sharpest and most impressive results.

On World Pinhole Photography Day, it rained all day. So, I was forced to find a subject indoors to photograph. Here it is, nothing really interesting, but what was available.

The interesting thing about this image, is that it took 9 HOURS to expose! A problem with reciprocity of the Tri-X 320 film I was using.

Well, I messed up a knee in a fall, so I'm stuck in the house. My Wife brought me my Mamiya 23 equipment and I found a nice shot right in the family room. Now all I have to do is get down to the darkroom and process it.

Nice pictures!

I haven't processed my film yet, but I shot almost two rolls of 120 in a ZeroImage 2000 (the only pinhole camera I plan on owning, results are good enough for me).

However, if the rain isn't pouring down - why not go out anyway?

Because with all the rain, there was a lot of lightning, as well as wind. A light drizzle would not have stopped me!

I found this link:

Towards the bottom of the page is "Reciprocity Calculations". I used the one for Tri-X.

With the formula in hand, I wrote a small Java program to generate an exposure chart. The chart contains the indicated (metered) exposure (1 second, 2 seconds, etc.) and the reciprocity exposure time.
