It is fast approaching. What are you plans? I intend to take one of my 35mm matchboxes to the beach and then come home, process it and try a print.

I'm thinking of going back to the pinhole lensboard for my 4x5 and using up a few sheets of 4x5 film left around here from 2005. I don't have an operational enlarger for stuff that big, so it'll be contact prints (or hybrid -- "gasp!")

My newer option is the Bronica SQ-Hole I've used the last two years.

I have a long list of subject candidates out and about in eastern PA, but given it has been raining or threatening three of the last four WPPDs, I may end up sticking close to home, as I did last year. I'll definitely go out and do something.

A few years ago we did a big exchange for World Pinhole Day. I never heard from some of my exchanges. If I take a pinhole photograph, I will not join an exchange.

Yeah, that affair was disappointing. I still have one of this:

Image approximately 7.2 x 9.5 mounted for 11 x 14; PM me your snail mail address if you want it (I don't need two on hand).

I am glad that I am not the only one that remembers it that way.

I plan on getting some friends together and doing some pinhole portraits that day. I'll entice them all to my place with beer and make them sit in front of the camera before (and maybe after) they open up a bottle.

I'm hoping to have my 11x14 pinhole camera finished for it.

(there was a url link here which no longer exists) Man, why isn't pinhole day on March 17, huh? Or May 5th.

What do Saint Patrick or Karl Marx have to do with pinhole photography?

Steve

Saint Patrick day is 17 March.

Karl Marx's birthday is 5 May.

I still fail to see any relationship to World Pinhole Day.

Well, I will go out with my 8x10 box that day and take some photographs. Too bad that some of you made so bad experiences with a pinhole exchange. I would like to share some photographs. So if someone is interested ... send a PM.

Cheers
Ruediger

I also had disappointing experiences when I took part in the exchange a couple of years ago, although one person did send a beautiful pl/pt print.

Maybe I will try again with my 5x4 bug-eye, if I can get it working better. At the moment, one of the pinholes is bigger than the others so the images are not all exposed the same.

Tom Miller just posted an informative post regarding WPPD on 26 April this year. Look for it here on APUG.

I haven't been around for a long time due to rebuilding a house and making 2 babies. But the house is almost ready and I have a new operational darkroom up and running.

For the second time I will invite 2 fellow photography students who became lifetime friends, along with their women and children.

I just got a Skink Pinhole Pancake from eBay that fits my Linhof so we can waste some of my last Polaroid 55/59 sheets.

And I also found 3 Pola Image packs for which I will make another camera.
That way we can easily process them by putting the pack into the camera after each exposure.

Should be fun.

I'm giving my students extra credit for shooting pinholes this weekend. One has taken my cookie-tin camera and shooting panorama paper-negatives, one has a 4x5 pinhole and one has an 8x10. Should be interesting to see what they get!
