Wasn't it Bryn(n?) Campbell - a BBC show, and there was a book as well which I have in the house, I'm out in the darkroom down the garden at the moment. I never saw the show.

Peter Turner wrote a History of Photography, an antidote to the heavily US bias ofBeaumont Newhalls book of the same name, Turners book was more globally biased.

Ian, I can even vaguely remember a short series of photographic programmes in about 1954/55 on the BBC involving Baron, the photographer liked by Prince Philip. He had that vaguely Middle Eastern look which made him quite glamorous. It was just him and his camera in front of one T.V. camera in a tiny studio, talking for about 15 minutes.

The rich had 14 inch T.V.s, most had 12 inch and there were still some 9 inch ones around, I believe. Half a world away as they say

In it, the individual makes a statement to the effect that Hasselblad's A24 backs can be used with 120 film? I've only ever used A12s because I have only ever shot 120 film with my Hasselblads (PanF+, FP4+, TMax100 and E100G) Needless to say, this is news to me! Is his information accurate? If so, KEH's giveaway prices on their stock of A24s might be worth considering. Sirius, where are you?

My memory from 1954/5 is rather vague First I really remember of a TV it was a small screen with a box to get ITV, I had my first camera in 1956 no idea what it was a folder with bellows, I'd guess 6x9 probably the one my father had in WWII. I've a meeting with 2 Sikhs with military connections in the next 2 to 3 weeks to show the images made with that camera, my father commanded an IEME (Indian REME) light tank regiment and documented their march from India to Egypt and the big tank battle at El Alamein.

Even though they're dated, and you don't always get to see the finished product of what the topic was, it's been fun. The topics are applicable even today, and it's a good refresher course in some basics. I've also gotten a few creative ideas out of it.

I remember some sort of camera/photography program on TV in the Chicago area in the early 80s, but I have only the faintest memories of it. The only thing I remember for (pretty) sure is that it was on Sunday mornings.
