Workstation specs for MF scanning & PP?

I am currently using a several years old Dell Dimension 8400 with a Pentium 4 3.2GHZ CPU and 1 GB of ram. I scan and work with 35mm (and 10-12 megapixel digital captures) without any issues. I am thinking about getting a flatbed scanner (Epson 750) to use with MF film. I know that I need to increase the ram (max. on this machine is 4GB);assuming that is done, can this computer handle MF scans, at max resolution and a program like Lightroom or Photoshop?

I should think so; after the RAM upgrades, the most significant issue may be hard disk space and speed.
