Just curious if anyone has information about any interesting workshops, camera fairs, or other photo events in that take place regularly (or not) in Japan (or even nearby Asia - Korea, China, Hong Kong, Singapore are all within a cheap flight). I find that I often find out about camera fairs and other events after they've already happened.

I'd also like to do some workshops in alternative processes (like wet or dry plate, bromoil, carbon printing, platinum, etc) although I have no idea if anyone is doing anything like here. Bookmaking is another interest.

Kyoto has the Kyotographie photo festival starting in late April. Next year the festival will take place from April 23rd - May 22nd. The venues are spread out across the city in a bunch of diverse locations. Of course it's not all analog, but still interesting nonetheless.

I recently came across the Tokyo International Photography Festival, but have never been and am curious if anyone has and what they thought of it.

I started a group on MeetUp.com called "Film Photography Tokyo".
Had one meetup last sunday with theme "Disposable Camera Only". No one showed up....
I am planning another one this coming sunday 20151213 for B/W film shooting and developing in Shibuya.
Hopefully I can gather a few more people over the next few months.

Alfie Goodrich has some interesting workshops in Tokyo.
He's all digital but I doubt it matters if you show up with your film gear at his workshops.

Sounds like fun. Actually, I'll be in Tokyo this weekend but I've already got almost every spare moment booked with something (going to a conference doesn't help). I did join the meetup group just in case something really interesting pops up the next time I'm there.
