Selling one of my favorite old workhorses. I've made many many successful images with this old lens. I replaced it with a cleaner shinier example. It happens.
This one is hard to make pretty. It's the pictures it makes that are pretty, not the lens. It's a barrel lens with working aperture. That's all. The Studio Shutter isn't going to work again. Aperture is accurate.
It comes with a chrome flange that didn't get into the pictures. This one has been modified so that the front ring does not stop at '5'. You can unwind it and make a 1/4 inch gap if you want to. Softness with that modification approaches Verito's and other high end high dollar soft focus lenses.
Cranked down to '0' and stopped down it's a remarkably sharp tessar type lens. That's why it's a workhorse. It just does a lot of stuff well.
Glass is spiffy nice but I've never seen one of these with so many air bubbles. Air bubbles were considered a sign of quality at that time. This must be the best quality one ever!
In this shape, in this market.....I'm going to ask $435 + shipping for this.
