do you have a link to their work?
i couldn't find anything except interviews of sophie calle,
and a vimeo thing on jim goldberg's book ( on his website ).
thought it was great he re-released his book as xeroxes
but i really couldnt' read any of the text for either person ...

i've been toyed with the idea of little single edition books again but with text over leafing
or text as an OHT internegative or to print with, but my plans tend to get side tracked by life...
i made a small book years ago where i did something similar
but haven't done it in a while, just freeform stream of consciousness stuff these days,

A very fine human being as well as photographer. I did meet him a zillion years ago but didn't realize how strong his work, photo and relationship-ability-with-subjects, was until I saw a long feature in San Francisco Chronicle's Sunday magazine...on vets living marginally in San Francisco's residential hotels. Back then the homeless vets may have been doing better than they are today.

To the extent that images and words are intended to evoke responses from others, "chapbooks" make sense. They often combine significant photos or other artworks along with poetry. That idea appeals to me.

Instead, for the past decade I've almost always printed each one of mine to letter size and inserted into a side-lock acrylic sleeve with whatever seems appropriate...never purely technical notes. Over that decade, mine have been distributed to B&W inkjet print-exchange partners, about every other month. That's been around 50 prints each year for ten years. The current exchange requires email comments from every participant.

Some folks dislike words..or even titles...By contrast, my prints are intended to communicate to others. They're not solopsistic, they're the reason I photograph.

https://www.archivalmethods.com/product/side-lock-film-sleeves acrylic is more clear than polyethylene and side-lock means the print can be easily removed for viewing.
