Local camera store has acquired an old Plaubel 4x5. On it is a lens that I've never seen.
Wollensak 3 1/2 inch. That would be about 85mm. It is the "extra wide" and is made
for 4x5. Tiny little thing. Anyone here ever use one?
i used to have this lens ... it is an f12 ( but it seems to open more to focus, its just not marked )
and in a tiny alphax shutter. it grab it if you can, its a 90mm lens and sharp as nails stopped down
to f22 ... and stopped down it will cover a 5x7 sheet ... the only drawback is the shutter is self cocking ( good )
no flash sync or cable socket ( bad )...
What a shame, 90mm Wollys are incredible little lenses. I have a couple without shutters, one is used for enlarging. I sold off a Schneider to keep the Wolly for 6x9, tack sharp corner to corner.
Is it a lens like discussed in
(there was a url link here which no longer exists) ?
I use this one with great pleasure on my Linhof 6x9 Super Technika.
But I think the "extra wide" version will be another one?
