WLF vs Prism - general

Hi all, I am still playing around with it hope to shoot off a roll soon. I have the RB67.

I only have the WLF. How is the prism? Is the view smaller and how about the brightness. I find that with the WLF just playing with in at night indoors the WLF is a bit dim the magnifying glass helps a lot though. I find the reversed image difficult though handheld and also with the bellow focusing knob it's not very ergonomic but I intend to shoot this mainly off a tripod. Would probably prefer the 500CM or the GSW690 for handheld.

For handheld, get one of the left hand trigger brackets. It will make a big difference with the WLF.

The prisms are very large.

Of course, the WLF is viewed at 1.0X magnification. The Bronica AE-II prism finder is at 0.82X, and AE-III is at 0.75X.

I prefer the prism to the WLF mainly because I do not like the left-right reversal. After that the stray light into the WLF, the additional magnification of the prism and the built in light meter round out the reasons that I like the prism.

the chimney finder is light weight and blocks alot of outside light so the screen looks brighter can get them with or without a meter, and the diopter is adjustable.... but the image is the same as the wlf.

the prism is the ultimate answer. image is right side up n looks bright since it has an eye cup. but it adds a couple more pounds, its a big chunk of glass. once you get use to it, you'll never go back.

I only have WLF and the chimney for my RB, and prefer the latter. The WLF is a bit dark. A prism is on my bucket list, only because I like shooting down and that sucks with both WLF and chimney.

The reversed right left thing does my head in espcially if I need to up up and down as well at an diagonal angle to straighten the composition. I don't mind it with a tripod but handholding my arms are literally wobbling while I turn that focus knob a few times as it moves in and out it caught my other hand by just a bit. I don't think the RB67 would be a handholding camera for myself.

I have both the WLF and the prism, both are useful. In part it depends on the project. Looking down into the WLF feels different, and preferable with portrait sessions in my opinion, you can talk to the sitter without looking at them directly. The left right reversal is something you get used to after a while using the camera with WLF regularly, it becomes automatic with practice.

RB and RZ prisms are awesome...you will love them...it adds a little weight but focusing
will be quick...the LH grip is good but not necessary really.
