A near-mint Vivitar 285 flash.
Works!
Tested with test button in manual modes.
No sync cord, sorry!
Includes battery holder.
NO corrosion on battery holder or in flash unit.
See photos.

Interested...did you try testing it on a camera hotshoe?
 
Is it the newer version which made in China? The older version made in Japan or Korea are not safe for the camera.

Eh? Not safe for what cameras? Maybe some modern ones but I had one in college in 1981 and used it on a variety of cameras of the time. It never hurt anything and always worked well.

Not safe for modern Canon DSLR's like the 5D Mark IV. The first version the voltage can be over 200V.

I have a project where I'll need to use it.
BTW, it is a " Made in Japan" version.
I will be using it with a Mamiya TLR off-camera, so no issues with sync voltage.
