I have been lent a Wista 45DX which I've now run out a couple of times, and am thoroughly enjoying the experience. I realise I'm too late for the joys of polaroid type 55, which is sad, but was hoping to play around with the new fuji 4x5 instant films.

My question is - does any one out there have experience with the Wista DX and know whether it can take a polaroid 550 or Fuji PA45 pack-holder? It looks like there might be space but I know they are large ...

Thanks in advance.

Yes it can, I used to regularly use the Polaroid Redyloads which were Fuji 100D.

The backs will lift & take the Wista Roll-film backs which are about 3-4 times as thick as the Polaroid/Fuji holders.

I use both Fuji/Polaroid packs (45-145) in my Wista with no problems. Just make sure that you load the film carefully. Keep a pair of tweezers with your gear so you can fish out the paper pull-tab on those occasions when it tears off too close to the holder. You'll find out what I'm talking about soon enough.
