I am not opposed to one using pyrogallol. However it should be one an informed basis. Unfortunately there are some on APUG that see a new formula and feel the compulsion to try it. Often these are the people who do no other research. I also mention that catechol based staining developers are safer to use. The EU guidelines rate it as a level 3 toxin. While still toxic catechol is not considered a cumulative poison.
Those concerned with safety should google the term "darkroom disease." Studies indicate that those exposed to darkroom chemicals on a regular basis suffer from a statistically greater number of health issues than the general public.

You know what? There is no magic fairy dust!
