Nothing new, but I really enjoyed looking at the William Gedney photos at the Duke University Libraries Digital Collections galleries. I mainly looked at his black and white shots taken in the 60's and 70's, I especially liked the hippies section. A testament to how a collection of one person's photos can help document an era.

thanks for this.

I'm in the UK so will never see the exhibition, but I hope it brings this under-appreciated photographer to more people's attention. His work is acutely observational but also breathes humanity.

I only knew of Wm Gedney because I found the collection of photographs, notebooks & letters "What Was True" - published after his awfully early death - in a charity shop.

The book is well worth seeking out, though it seems to go for silly prices these days.
