Will Mamiya 645E work with trigger? Shot above 1/60?

I’m new to this forum, but I’m hoping someone can clarify a few things for me.

I have a Mamiya 645E, I want to shoot it in the studio with strobes. I have two things to confirm. First my understanding is that you can’t have a shutter speed above 1/60 with the 645E, what will happen if you go to 1/125? It seems to sync with a speed light connected to the hot shoe so what happen if you do go to 1/125 with a trigger and a strobe? Will it just not sync correctly? Second question is will any trigger connected to the hot shoe work with strobes? Or do you have to use a sync cord? I can’t get a straight answer anywhere I read.

If you use a shutter speed shorter than the camera's sync speed (1/60 for the Mamiya 645E), you'll get a dark band on the image. Don't worry about motion blur. The flash duration is much shorter than 1/60 and will freeze any motion. If you use the built-in focal plane shutter of the camera, you don't need a sync cord. Putting the trigger on the hot shoe is sufficient. Only if you use a lens with a leaf shutter, you'll need a sync cord between the lens and the flash trigger. But in a studio environment there's (imo) no advantage to using a leaf shutter over the focal plane shutter. I always use the focal plane shutter with studio flashes.

Amazing you answer my questions perfectly, I really appreciate you taking the time. There a lack of information about the 645e unfourtuetly especitly for studio work. The way you answered it was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you again!
