In theory the 14" f/7.7 Dagor, which according to some specs will cover up to 87 degrees at f/45, should provide better coverage than the 355 G-Claron. In fact, that is rarely the case. I have owned three differerent 14" Dagors and all of them vignetted on 12X20 and did not come close to covering the format. I have even seen 16 1/2" Dagors that would not cover 12X20. And of course, the last 14" Kern Dagor barely covers 7X17.
On the other hand I owned for a long time a 12" Dagor from the 1920s that just covered 12X20.
So anyone interested in Dagors must bear in mind that they are all over the board in terms of both coverage and performance, which should come as no surprise since they were produced by literally dozens of manufacturers over almost a century of time. G-Claron's on the other hand, are all very similar in terms of performance, and all were made by Schneider.
