I have been using my Yashica Mat 124G quite a bit lately and thought for some shots it would be nice to have a wide angle lens.

There is a Yashica branded auxiliary lens available, yet a google search did not reveal much about it or the results with it.

Can someone who has used this lens in the past chime in and comment? Is it decent or not very good? Sample images would be great as well.

Thanks for the help,

David

I used mine when in graduate school and was pleased with the results. Now my main rollfilm camera is a Rolleiflex 6008i with 50mm Distagon and that is one of the sharpest 50mm lenses out there, so it is not a fair comparison.
Recently, I got the Yashica and WA lens out and was using the WA viewing lens on on the Yashica's taking lens and shooting wide open. That gave some nice 'plastic camera' effects, without the troublesome plastic camera.

ic-racer - thanks for the reply. Do you have any sample shots to post, both the plastic camera type as well as other shots?

There is a WA set listed for sale and I would like to see what the images may look like before I part with hard earned $$.
