Why You didn't Come to the Conference

I did go and enjoyed it immensely. Given a choice though I would vote for a start date two weeks later in May, or later in the Contact Photo Festival. I had to leave home the last week of the college course term with permission and return for the final critique. I think this was a factor for several people.

Though I attended six workshops at the conference, I would liked to have stayed on. There were several exhibits opening in a week or two at other galleries in the Toronto Contact Festival that I would like to have seen. Maybe you cant have it all, but if you dont ask, no one knows.

Thanks again for a wonderful conference.

Same here. I was not able to be there for all of it, but that was a work confilict that had nothing to do with the timing of the conference. (I'm still irritated about missing Les's workshop.) Although later in May or early June would be better for weather - Saturday was f-f-f-f-f-reezing!

Given the geographic distribution of APUG it's not possible to hold one conference that would be attended by a cast of thousands. Some folks could step up to organize regional do's?

The diverse makeup of folks makes it impossible to please everyone, but constructive comments given in good faith from those who went and those who didn't can only help to improve. BTW there was never any intent to make anyone feel 'guilty' about not going - only please help us to plan one that might have higher attendance.

I would love to go to such a conference, but I only have Sundays off for the forseeable future, so would not be able to go.
.....unlesss it happened to be in Melbourne on a Sunday

I was at the conference and I agree with John, a bit later would be better ... I can verify also that John Powers was there...

And I will vouch that both John and Dave were there - and both seem to be having a great time, at least as long as their hands were holding a beer and the talk was of photography. John was following Les around, so he had *stars** in his eyes and was walking on clouds.

Couldn't find a car pool so saved the money for a real pool.
Wanted to buy more product from the people who attended the conference.
Passed through the Tor Airport on my way to Paris in Nov., too much construction going on and the people were rude to the max., couldn't believe it because the people in BC are fantastic.

There were a lot of people who worked very hard at that conference, including Bob, who basically shut his business down for the duration, working 18 hour days for us. Your flippant remarks come across as insensitive and insulting.

It's easy to get. Curt feels there is some great stupidity in discussing the conference -- unless it is belittling it. Thanks to those who responded we now think we know how to put on one that will make most people happy, Curt being the exception. Assuming we succeed (or not) this knowledge will be passed to the next organizing crew. The thing that most of us have as our focus is building a lasting tradition and to that end our goal is to build a solid foundation.

John did not mean a literal foundation,
simply some type of lady's undergarment.

Something slippy to wear to the Star Chamber.

Which is the pub areound the corner from Carnie's place. Which makes it crawling distance from the next conference.

Although crawling around Toronto in a ladies' underthings is not for the faint of heart.
